Be still, …

I live on the side of the hemisphere dominated by the Christian faith. Yesterday morning we had an earthquake, with, thank God, no loss of any kind. I read and heard, all throughout the day, all kinds of prayers and pleadings for protection and that is fine; but, it would be much better if we would set aside a few moments every day and raise our prayers to the God of heaven with our worship and would trust in Him; and put all of our worries before him, because He takes care of us. If His Word dwelled in us, we would say as King David did in Psalms 53:6: "What time I am afraid, I will trust in you" and likewise in another passage in Psalms 46:1-3:"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the middle of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof ...". The LORD, the God of Israel and my God, to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
